Associations, Federations and Special Interest Groups

Aware of the importance of international cooperation for the advancement of science, INSTICC works closely together with several other national and international associations and is proud to welcome them as partners in its activities or to arrange initiatives in cooperation with them.

While several forms of partnership are welcome, INSTICC places special value in "Technical Co-Sponsorships", by means of which both associations support each other from a scientific perspective for their mutual benefit. Additionally, in this case, members of partner organizations benefit from the same registration conditions as INSTICC members.

Current Institutional Partners:

Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication

INSTICC is the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication, a scientific, non-profit, association whose main goals are to serve the international scientific community by promoting, developing and disseminating knowledge in the areas of information systems and technologies, control and communication. It has organized hundreds of successful scientific conferences across the world since 2003, in collaboration with the main international institutions in its areas of interest.

Object Management Group

The Object Management Group (OMG) is an international, open membership, not-for-profit computer industry standards consortium. Founded in 1989, OMG standards are driven by vendors, end-users, academic institutions and government agencies.

Workflow Management Coalition

Founded in 1993, the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) is a global organization of adopters, developers, consultants, analysts, as well as university and research groups engaged in workflow and BPM. The WfMC creates and contributes to process related standards, educates the market on related issues, and is the only standards organization that concentrates purely on process. The WfMC created Wf-XML and XPDL, the leading process definition language used today in over 80 known solutions to store and exchange process models. XPDL is a process design format for storing the visual diagram and all design time attributes.

Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents

FIPA is an IEEE Computer Society standards organization that promotes agent-based technology and the interoperability of its standards with other technologies.

ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems

SIGBED is intended to be a focal point within ACM for all aspects of embedded computing systems, including both software and hardware. Embedded systems has come to be recognized as a key discipline, which includes new computer and systems science foundations, new design technology, and new hardware and software frameworks. Members of the SIGBED community serve on the editorial board of ACM's publication, "ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems" and the upcoming "ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks".

ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing

SIGAPP's mission is to further the interests of the computing professional engaged in the development of new computing applications and application areas and the transfer of computing technology to new problem domains.

ACM Special Interest Group on Operating Systems

SIGOPS addresses a broad spectrum of issues associated with operating systems research and development. Members are drawn from a broad community spanning industry, academia, and government.

SIGOPS supports many conferences and workshops. Areas of special interest include: interactions with computer architecture, multiprocessing, distributed, mobile computing, networking, resource management, security, and interprocess communication.

ACM Special Interest Group on Performance Evaluation

SIGMETRICS is the ACM Special Interest Group (SIG) for the computer systems performance evaluation community.

SIGMETRICS promotes research in performance analysis techniques as well as the advanced and innovative use of known methods and tools. It sponsors conferences, such as its own annual conference (SIGMETRICS), publishes a newsletter (Performance Evaluation Review), and operates a mailing list linking researchers, students, and practitioners interested in performance evaluation.

International Frequency Sensor Association

International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) is a professional, non-profit, international society for supporting researches and developments in physical and chemical, electrical and non-electrical sensors and biosensors. It has founded in 1999. In 2000 the IFSA was registered by the Union of International Associations (UIA) in Brussels (Belgium). The main aim of IFSA is to provide the best platform for academicians, researchers and engineers from industry to present and discuss the latest research results, experiences and future trends in the area of design and application of different smart sensors with digital, frequency (period), duty-cycle, PWM, time interval, phase-shift or pulse number output. Very fast advances in IC technologies brought new challenges in the physical design of integrated sensors and microsensors. This development is essential for developing modern measurement science and technology in the nearest future.
